From August 19th to 20th, 2013, Mr. Wang Wei, Chairman of Sinoma Int. attended the first meeting of the BRICS Business Council in Johannesburg South Africa.
The Business Council was established during the 5th summit between the state leaders of the BRICS countries. The Council aims to strengthen the five countries’ cooperation in the fields of skill development, banks, manufacturing industry, industrialization, etc. and to promote commerce, skill transfer and private investment. The Business Council constitutes 25 members with 5 for each BRICS member country.
The council members exchanged their ideas on the topics of the common concern during the meeting on August 19th. Mr. Wang Wei proposed the establishment of BRICS business information exchanging platform. He believed that such a platform would play a positive role in providing policy support, promoting economic, trade and technical exchanges, enhancing the BRICS influence, etc. English, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese and other languages can be used for the platform. Furthermore such functions as technical innovation, promotion of achievement transformation and integration of R & D plan can be added to the platform. This proposal was unanimously approved by all the council members.
On August 20th the meeting between the BRICS and African enterprises took place at the Sandton Convention Centre. President Zuma of South Africa delivered a speech at the meeting. Mr. Wang Wei attended the panel discussions.
